Terms of Service

The terms you accept by using this website or the Lumen app.

Last updated

This website and the Lumen mobile app are operated by Mariia Kirpichnikova, trading as Rubicon Creators. By browsing the site or using Lumen, you accept these terms.

They cover both. Some sections are about the website, some are about the app, and each says which. The app is also subject to the App Store's rules and to Apple's standard licence terms; any consultancy engagement is governed by the separate contract signed for that work, and where that contract conflicts with these terms, it wins.

01

Who you are dealing with

Spanish law requires a provider of information society services to identify itself. Ours:

  • Name: Mariia Kirpichnikova
  • Trading as: Rubicon Creators
  • Status: Autónomo, established in Spain
  • NIF / VAT number: ESZ1944601W
  • Registered address: C/ de Muntaner, 61, L’Eixample, 08011 Barcelona, Spain
  • Email: mariiakirpichnikova@gmail.com

Lumen — what it is, and what it is not

Lumen is a tool for self-reflection. It is not diagnosis, therapy, medical advice, or a replacement for professional care, and the insights it generates are hypotheses, not conclusions about you.

Do not use it as a substitute for professional help, and do not make medical, legal or financial decisions on the strength of what it tells you. It is designed to help you think, not to decide for you.

Lumen is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services, a professional, or someone you trust. Support resources are listed in the app, but their availability can change and the app cannot respond to an emergency.

03

Who can use Lumen

Lumen is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it. You are responsible for your account and for what you do with it, and if you connect an Apple or Google account, for keeping that sign-in secure.

04

Your content and your maps

What you write in Lumen is yours. You keep it. By using the app you give us the permission we need to process what you write — including sending it to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy — solely to generate, store and show you your maps and insights.

The maps Lumen produces are for your own personal use. The app itself — its design, code, prompts and templates — belongs to the operator.

05

AI-generated content

Your maps and insights are generated by large language models. They can be wrong, incomplete, or simply not fit you. They are offered as hypotheses to reflect on, never as fact, assessment or advice.

Your own judgement, and where it matters a qualified professional's, governs — not the output of the app.

06

Subscriptions and payment

Some of Lumen is free; some features require a subscription. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store, and payment is taken by Apple, not by us. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy, and nothing here limits any refund right you have under consumer law.

07

Using the app and the site fairly

Whether you are on the website or in the app, please do not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the systems behind either.
  • Interfere with availability for other people, including by automated flooding.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape or resell the service, or reuse its design, code or copy commercially without permission.
  • Use Lumen to harm yourself or others, or rely on it in place of professional care.

08

Nothing on the website is an offer

The marketing pages — services, engagement models, indicative prices and timelines — are published to help you decide whether to start a conversation. They are information, not a binding offer, and nothing on the website creates a contract. A binding agreement exists only when both parties sign one.

09

Intellectual property

The design, text, code and images of the website and the app belong to the operator, except where stated otherwise. Typefaces and open-source libraries are the property of their authors and used under their licences.

Client and product names mentioned on the site belong to their owners and appear for identification only; their appearance does not imply endorsement.

10

Availability and liability

Both the website and the app are provided as they stand. We do not promise they will be available without interruption or free of error, and we may change, gate behind a subscription, or withdraw any part of them at any time.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or the app — in particular for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under Spanish and EU consumer law are unaffected by these terms.

11

Apple's role

Lumen is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these terms against you. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app, and where it gives you more, it prevails.

12

Privacy

How the website and the app handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy. In short: the website collects almost nothing, and the app collects what it needs to generate and store your reflections. Read that policy before using Lumen.

13

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction over disputes about them.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

14

Changes

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and the version published here is the one that applies.
